Seal Watching Trips

New for 2016: Seal Watching.

There are now over 40 resident seals in Chichester Harbour, mainly harbour seals but occasionally you’ll see a few of the grey seals amongst them. The colony is slowly expanding each season as the mature seals pair up and mate. Something fishy are running pre-booked trips to view the seals on suitable days when conditions are right. The price is £15 per person and it will take two hours to complete the experience. There are certain guidelines we must observe so some restrictions will apply.

On our last three trips, we have seen on average 25-30 Seals. The pups are growing fast and the colony is looking plentiful. I’m planning on carrying on with these trips throughout the winter months. As we move into the Autumn the seals are now starting to gain their thicker, and much darker, winter coats.

Next seal trip sunday 18th september at 8 am

Customer Feedback

“We booked the seal boat trip by contacting Adam from ‘Something Fishy’ and he was very helpful and informative. We received a message a few days before our trip to confirm our sailing time (due to tidal changes). We met Adam at Chichester Marina and he also let us know about The Boat House Cafe restaurant where we booked to have breakfast first (booking recommended and arrive early as they are very busy!). The boat trip was brilliant, there are cushioned seats and it was very relaxed and we were free to move around to look at all the activities going on in the water and all the other boats. Seeing the seals was a real treat and Adam had several pairs of binoculars that we could all use, although we were close enough to see the seals without them. We loved the boat trip and would highly recommend it and it was great value too”. - Suzanne
